Overview
The Planning Commission considers land use matters such as zone changes, conditional use permits, variances, subdivisions and general plan amendments. The Commission is a permanent advisory committee of five citizens appointed by the Mayor and subject to confirmation by the City Council. Members serve four-year, staggered terms. To be eligible to serve on the commission, one must be a resident within the city limits of the City of Ceres.
Responsibilities
- Hold public hearings and review development applications
- Make recommendations to City Council on the General Plan, major planning studies, master plans, municipal code amendments, zoning changes, environmental studies and analysis
- Perform architectural and site plan review to ensure new developments' integration into the existing and planned community fabric
