About Councilmember Condit

Born at Memorial Hospital in Modesto, raised in Ceres, and moved to Arizona in 2004. In 2012, Couper moved back to Ceres and attended Whitmore Charter High School and Modesto High School. Couper was awarded Ceres Young Citizen of the Year in 2014 by the Ceres Chamber of Commerce.

Couper was appointed to the Ceres Planning Commission in April of 2015. Couper advocated for reforms to the General Plan process, agricultural land preservation, earmarking revenue directly for public safety, and reinvestment in Ceres housing. In 2016, Couper was hired as District Director for State Assemblyman Heath Flora. “As District Director, I worked with Assemblymember Flora to ensure the Stanislaus Regional Water Authority was part of Proposition 68, which voters passed, and will benefit water quality potential for Ceres and Turlock residents.”

Couper was removed from the Planning Commission in January of 2020, for his insistence of being an independent thinker. On July 22 2020, Couper Condit became a candidate for Ceres City Council District 4.  In a 3 month campaign and a four person race, Couper was successful in the 2020 November 3 General Election.
