The Stanislaus Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) is seeking applicants to fill an upcoming vacancy for a Public Member and Alternate Public Member on the Commission.  Serving as a public member to LAFCO is a unique opportunity.  It allows residents who are not elected officials to serve as equal members on a Commission with elected county supervisors, mayors or city council members.  Minimum qualifications for appointment include:  (1) being a resident of Stanislaus County; and (2) persons not currently an officer or employee of the County, or any city or special district with territory in Stanislaus County.  A public member represents the public interest within the county as a whole.
