Officer Sam Ryno was critically wounded during the same exchange with an armed suspect. Officer Ryno has been with the Public Safety Department, Police Division for 22 years and has a wife and two sons.
     A memorial fund has been established for Sgt. Stevenson's family at West America Bank in Ceres. A fund has also been established at the Ceres West America Bank for Officer Ryno and his family for those in the community who may wish to donate to their families.
