About Councilmember Martinez
Councilman Daniel A. Martinez is serving his first term on the Ceres City Council, representing District 4 beginning December 2022. Mr. Martinez was appointed by the City Council to serve on the Ceres Planning Commission in October 2021.
Councilman Martinez is a first generation Mexican-American, whose grandparents moved to Ceres in the 1970s. He was born in Los Angles and returned to the area at a young age, attending Walter White Elementary, Teel Middle School, and Johansen High School. He also obtained degrees in communications and social and behavioral sciences from Modesto Junior College.
Councilman Martinez and his wife have been together over 10 years, have lived in Ceres since 2017, and have three young sons. As an experienced quality and inventory manager, Councilman Martinez understands the importance of details, preparation, checks and balances, along with working with management teams from different cultural backgrounds. He believes this gives him the experience needed to be successful as a member of the City Council.
Other City involvement for Councilman Martinez includes being nominated as Ceres Volunteer of the Year for 2022, Ceres Lions Club, Coach for Ceres Youth Baseball, and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
“The quality of our city is my top priority.”
