Streets, Sidewalks, and Signs

The Streets Division maintains and repairs City streets, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, traffic markings, and traffic control signs.

Street maintenance and repairs include resurfacing roadways, sealing cracks, and filling potholes. Whenever a street's condition deteriorates to the point that preventative maintenance is no longer effective, it is put on the Engineering Department's reconstruction list to be removed and replaced.

Sidewalk maintenance and repairs include the removal and replacement of sidewalks, curbs, and gutters. Raised sidewalks may need to be inspected for possible repair. The repair could be removal and replacement of the sidewalk, or grinding down the raised edge.

Traffic Control Signs and Street Markings

Traffic signs and street markings are used to regulate, warn, and guide motorist and pedestrians around the public right-of-way. Traffic signs and street markings include stop signs, speed limits, street names, crosswalks, and many more.
